FAM assets with related records that are actively depreciating cannot be deleted.
Below are the steps we done to delete the asset record:
*Make sure Allow Asset Value Editing box = YES on Fixed Assets > Setup > System Setup (Administrator).
- Navigate to Fixed asset > Lists > Assets
- Click Edit beside the FAM asset.
- Set the following: • Current Net Book Value = 0.00 • Asset Status = Disposed
- Under General Tab set the following fields to null or blank: • Purchase Date • Depreciation Start Date • Depreciation End Date • Last Depreciation Period • Last Depreciation Amount • Last Depreciation Date
- Set Depreciation Active = False.
- Click Save. Click OK.
- Click Reset Asset Values button available when you navigate to Fixed Assets > Setup > System Setup (Administrator).
- Once process is done, edit asset. Hover to Actions > Delete.
- On Notice: This record cannot be deleted because it has dependent records., click dependent records link on a new tab.
- Delete all dependent records.
- Navigate to Fixed asset > Setup > Delete Assets
- Under Delete Invalid Assets page select the Asset ID/Name
- Click Delete.
Asset should now be deleted.
