What is existing SuiteSignOn feature in NetSuite?

SuiteSignOn is a feature in NetSuite that allows users to access external applications directly from the NetSuite user interface without additional authentication. This is done through outbound single sign-on (SSO), which means that once a user has logged into NetSuite, they are automatically logged into the external application.

To use SuiteSignOn, the external application must be configured to support SSO. The application provider must also provide NetSuite with a shared secret, which is used to verify the authenticity of the SSO request.

Once the external application is configured, users can access it from NetSuite by clicking on a link or button. The link or button will launch the external application in a new window, and the user will be automatically logged in.

SuiteSignOn can be used to integrate NetSuite with a variety of external applications, such as:

  • Customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Accounting software
  • Human resources (HR) systems
  • E-commerce platforms
  • Project management software

SuiteSignOn can help to improve the user experience by making it easier for users to access the applications they need. It can also help to improve security by reducing the number of passwords that users need to remember.

Here are some of the benefits of using SuiteSignOn:

  • Improved user experience: Users can access external applications without having to log in again.
  • Increased security: Users only need to remember one password, which reduces the risk of password theft.
  • Reduced IT costs: IT administrators can save time and resources by not having to manage multiple passwords.

NB: This feature ends in NetSuite 2024.1 for non-production accounts and NetSuite 2024.2 for production accounts. and the NetSuite OIDC (OpenID Connect) Provider feature, which will replace the existing SuiteSignOn feature in future NetSuite releases.
