What to do with Fixed Assets that were skipped when Depreciation was run?

The main reason why an Asset Record was not considered when depreciation was processed is because the following fields have incorrect data:

1.      Last Depreciation Date

2.      Last Depreciation Period

In both examples, Assets 001 and 002 will not be included in the depreciation process because the system will treat them as if they were already depreciated for the period.

In cases like these, here’s what you can do to resolve it:

A. Update the Asset Record(s) of the Fixed Assets that did not depreciate

  1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Lists > Assets
  2. Asset Record: Click Edit
  3. Click General tab: Depreciation Active: Select False |Input the correct data on the following fields: Last Depreciation Date and Last Depreciation Period)
  4. Click Save
  5. Asset Record: Click Edit
  6. Click General tab: Depreciation Active: SelectTrue
  7. Click Save

B. Perform Reset of Asset Values and Generate the Depreciation Schedule

  1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Setup System Setup
  2. Click the Precompute Depreciation Values button

Note: Once the process is done, you can now depreciate the Fixed Assets again.
