When a Specific Bank Account is Selected, User is Unable to Select Other Currency From the Dropdown

Standard behavior on the Currency field in Write Checks page.

In NetSuite, a Bank Account is associated and maintained in only one currency.

In writing checks, if the currency of subsidiary is different from the currency of the bank account, the Currency available is the bank account’s currency.

On the other hand, if the currency of subsidiary is the same with the currency of the bank account, the Currency dropdown shows the available currencies under the Vendor record’s Financial > Currencies subtab.

To confirm this, I did the following test:

1. Write two checks:

1.1 One with the bank account that has the same currency with the subsidiary’s currency

e.g. Account: 323360 Mashreq AED

Subsidiary = Iapps Consulting DWC (AED currency)

1.2 One with a bank account with a currency that is different than the base currency of the subsidiary

e.g. Account: 323361 Mashreq USD

Subsidiary = Iapps Consulting DWC (AED currency)

On the check with a bank account that has a bank account currency that is the same with the subsidiary currency, both the currencies on the vendor record are available (SAR, USD) as well as AED which is the currency of both the bank account and subsidiary.

On the check with a bank account that has a currency that is different from the base currency of subsidiary, only the bank account currency is available on the Currency field.

I also tried setting the subsidiary to Aspire Systems for Information Technology (SAR currency) and its bank account 433529 Bank Clearing Account Saudi – SAR. The Currency field shows both the currency under the Vendor record’s Financial > Currencies subtab SAR and USD.
